Graphic Formats
The maps are presented in three different formats. The GIF maps are static maps saved at a specific resolution. All web browsers can read GIF images without special plug-ins. Both SVG and SWF images are vector-based, which means they can be zoomed in and out and panned around, but they do require special plug-ins to work. Almost all browsers have SWF plug-ins installed automatically, while the SVG plug-in usually has to be installed by the user. Visit the Downloads page for SWF and SVG download links.
